Satellite V v. JC Sat 6th
Seemed, at first, the Johnny Cash show at the Empire would get the nod for the gig of this weekend but a late drop-in at the Bald Faced Stag on the way to the shops on Friday found the brilliant hillbilly/rockabilly quartet, Satellite V, booked for the Saturday night (May 6) gig (and, once again, not a scrap of advertising to indicate any entertainment, let alone Satellite V!! They've just gotta do it better!). About 9pm start.
Of course it'll be a hard decision and loyalties will be sorely tested but this lil' punter has to take into account the expected costs of a vehicle replacement so the free gig at the Stag gets my vote - just!
Maybe you can get a dose of both because the venues are only ten minutes walk apart.
The spirit of the late great Johnny Cash will hopefully not be flipping the bird at the Empire Hotel, Annandale this Sat 6th May, as a great line-up of local artists gather to celebrate his life in music.
Performers featured on the night include:
The Cartwrights, Bill Chambers, Karl Broadie, Mark Lucas & the Dead Setters, Amanda Easton, Kitty Adams, The Ramalamas & Cass Smiles.
8.30pm $12
And if that's not enough, the delightfully entertaining Blind Lemon Chicken will be doing the Sunday evening gig at the Botany View Hotel - 6.30 pm.
